WORLD-CLASS INSTRUCTION

Emelie

EMELIE DECAVITA

Stockholm, Sweden
Emelie and Rebecka have been making a name for themselves on the international lindy hop scene with their endless enthusiasm and passion for the dance and their high-energy, delightful dancing. As instructors Emelie and Rebecka strive to teach good technique in a way that is positive, humorous and effective.

Rebecka

REBECKA DECAVITA

Stockholm, Sweden
Rebecka and her sister Emelie are known for their ability to deliver clear, engaging instruction that makes dancing accessible to students of all experience levels. They particularly value the interaction between the leader and the follower, believing that both dancers must inspire each other and together form the dance.

Mike

MIKE FALTESEK

Seattle, WA
This year will mark Falty's thirteenth year with this event. His midwestern sensibility combined with his gift of making complex ideas easy to understand make this internationally-acclaimed dancer, teacher, choreographer, and musician a perfect fit for this down-home event.

Mia

MIA HALLORAN

New Orleans, LA
Mia (Goldsmith) has taught at Jamborama many times before, and she has always been a hit! This Champion Balboa dancer is known for her highly impressive footwork, improvisation, and individual approach to the dances of the Jazz Age. Her strength in the classroom has helped countless follows find their voice in the dance.

Shauna

SHAUNA MARBLE

Denver, CO
Shauna's attention to detail is unmatched. She has a deep understanding of the concepts, movements, and patterns of the dance and how they relate to and build from one another. This year she'll be sharing this deep understanding along with her high energy and enthusiasm with the dancers in the Beginner Track.

Jeremy

JEREMY OTTH

Orange County, CA
Jeremy has been long known for his fearlessness in dance. His deep understanding of lines, movement, and syncopation make him popular both on the dance floor and in the classroom. He is in high demand internationally amongst both Lindy and Balboa dancers.

Laura

LAURA KEAT

Orange County, CA
We're happy to see Laura return to the Jamborama teaching team after a 10-year absence. Laura's strong technical foundation in both Lindy and Balboa along with her charming individual style and clear instruction have made her a favorite the world over.

Peter

PETER LOGGINS

New Orleans, LA
As the foremost researcher on American Jazz Dance, Peter brings a first-hand historical approach to his classes. Combining his knowledge of music with the history handed down from the original dancers of the 1920s, '30s, and '40s he imparts his students with a greater appreciation and understanding of the dances' context.

Kyle

KYLE HANKINS

Denver, CO
Kyle's clear sense of the lead and follow relationship allows him to be both clear and spontaneously creative in his dancing; his dancing creates space for both partners to shine. He brings these important concepts with him to the classroom where connection and communication are key.
